Mindfulness Workshop: A Retreat Day for the Body, Mind and Spirit

Date: Saturday 23rd September

Times: 10.00 – 5.00

Venue: Godalming Unitarian Chapel, Meadrow, Godalming, Surrey. GU7 3JB (nearest train station: Farncombe is an easy 7 minute walk away). Parking is available on site and in a municipal car park opposite.

Early Bird Price: £65.00 prior to 23rd August, £75 thereafter

Prices include teas and light refreshments in the morning and afternoon breaks and recordings of all of the mindfulness practices.

This retreat day gives you the opportunity to stop, reflect and gain inspiration on any aspect of your life, either professional or personal.. Timed within 24 hours of the Autumn Equinox, the day allows you to draw on the energies of balance and equilibrium that the Equinox offers.

The focus for the day will be on practices and ideas drawn from the Buddhist tradition. Designed to help you observe and detach from your ceaseless thinking, the mindfulness practices will gently bring your mind to a place of quiet and tranquility.

All the guided meditations will be accompanied by Philippa Anne Reed on the Bowed Psaltery. This instrument is deliberately tuned to support mindfulness and bring a healing quality into the body, mind and spirit.

The retreat day will be a series guided practices with time in between for learning and sharing with others. The day will including:

– meditations to increase focus and concentration
– mindfulness practices to relax the mind and body
– practices to focus and quieten the ‘monkey mind’
– reflections to grow in self-awareness and your sense of Self
– opportunities to balance, replenish and refresh the body, mind and spirit
